From Mr. Doi's book, he explains his Osho connection:

While I practiced Reiki-ho I learned from Ms. Mitsui and Ms. Koyama, I came
across my third teacher. You may have heard about Alpan who learned from
Sensei Bagwan in India and proposes Neo Reiki in Tokyo which is a unity of
the eastern and the western Reiki. My third teacher is Masona who learned
from Bagwan Sensei together with Alpan and teaches Neo Reiki with
meditation in Kansai area of Japan and organizes “tours for Reiki learning
through swimming with dolphins”. I learned entire Reiki-ho from the
beginning at his school and again realized its prominence. I became certain
about my instinct that “Reiki-ho harmoniously contains every thing I learned”.

Note that just shortly after his book was published, Doi-sensei discovered
that the Téaté training he had from Mr. Ohta in 1982-84 was actually a form
of Gakkai Reiki - Ohta's teacher (whom Doi-sensei met) was Ms. Sasaki and
she turned out to be the head of the Gakkai in Hiroshima.

I initially learned the traditional Usui Reiki from Hiroshi Ohta sensei
while I was living in Hiroshima from 1982 to 1984. I received master
degree of the traditional Usui Reiki in 1984.

The complete lineage is:
Mikao Usui
Kanichi Taketomi
Ayako Sasaki
Hiroshi Ohta
Hiroshi Doi

Ohta-sensei was a student of Ayako Sasaki. Sasaki-sensei
received Shinpiden from Taketomi-sensei and was practicing
as a Reiki teacher in Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. After the Gakai
HQ place was destroyed by the air bombardment during WWII,
the each Gakkai Reiki teacher continued to teach Reiki individually
issuing their own certificates on their own responsibilities.

I did not realize that the Reiki I learned from Ohta-sensei was the
traditional Usui Reiki even long after I learned western Reiki.
Ohta-sensei or Sasaki-sensei do not live any more.

I became a member of the Gakkai on October 22th, 1993 and
learned the traditional Usui Reiki from Koyama-sensei .........
The current Gakkai teachers
agree that my energy lineage is definitely the one from Usui-sensei.

Originally Doi-sensei was an honorary member of the Gakkai and placed under
the direction of the late Mrs. Koyama. A couple of years ago after her
passing he became a formal member and is ranked Okuden.
